Event

Beethoven: A symphony / Shostakovich: A piano concerto

Andris Poga, conductor and Reinis Zariņš, pianist have met before – they think of music alike. For some years, they have been addressing the world and the Latvian Grand Music Award is theirs. Reinis Zariņš is appreciated as an exact and brilliant pianist, while Andris Poga’s interpretations are valued for their even-tempered rationality: this will be the key to Beethoven’s and Stravinsky’s musical architecture. But the juvenile and enthusiastic piano concerto by Shostakovich will remind of Andris Poga’s early career – there is a trumpet solo in finale!
