European Christmas. Mendelssohn’s Octet and Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence

The wish of orchestral musicians to express themselves in the language of chamber music will materialise in the performance of “Octet” by Mendelssohn, permeated with restless rustling, and “Memories of Florence” by Tchaikovsky – a masterful opus dedicated to six happy weeks spent on the bank of the Arno River and writing “The Queen of Spades”.
